About We Levitate When Our Minds Are Free.

Rashone James Washington Rashone Washington was born and raised in Newark, NJ the second oldest of five siblings. Rashone was a great student athlete who gained many awards in school for his academics as well as football and track. When Rashone graduated from high school in 1995 he found his self in a stagnant position, when he didn’t take the opportunity to go away to college. In 1998 during his period of running the streets and living the street life he decided to give college a try. He enrolled in Essex County College in Newark, NJ where he majored in radiology. But, by the second semester Washington switch to business management. This is where Rashone found his hidden talent as a writer, not to mention back in middle school he would always excel in his writing essays as well as win school writing competitions. After, one and a half years in Essex county college Washington dropped out and decided to work full time to support his self. Washington begin to write more and more poetry which lead to him and his cousin writing and producing their lst album together. The name of their two man group was “Armageddon Fam” they put together fourteen tracks for their album titled “Blood thicker than Water” which only took him and his cousin two days to record in the studio. In 2001, a week after the 9-11 attacks and after months of conversation with a close friend from his neighborhood Rashone was convinced in moving to North Carolina. Washington had only been to North Carolina two times once in 1988 and again in 1989 for his pee wee football championship game in Winston-Salem, when he played for the North ward- Scorpions from Newark, NJ. A little hesitant about the move Rashone took the move as a sign of change and as a spiritual turning point in his life. Once in North Carolina and established he then open the door for two cousins from his father’s side of the family. After being in North Carolina for six years Rashone started to make a deep connection with his creative side and in 2007 Washington, created his television show “Generation Got Next” on the local public access channel for Greensboro, North Carolina. “Generation Got Next” gained local attention and had a full page write up about the show in the local newspaper all in its first year. “Generation Got Next” aka “GGN” is hosted, produced, and directed by Washington as well as editing. Washington had no experience in editing but his cousin showed him a little about it but producing and hosting came natural. After Rashone created “Generation Got Next” this really open him up to do a “Biopic” of his life titled “1 Foot In And 1 Foot Out” and a slew of other screen plays he has titled “Running Out On Love”, Kutt From The Same Cloth” and a comedy titled “My Life- Who Cares”.
